Braeface - Pittsburgh
We were asked to bring this 1850 historic Pittsburgh home, once used as a writer’r retreat for literary elites, such as, naturalist John Burroughs, composer Ethelbert Nevin, and author Willa Cather, into the present day. The only mandate: respect the bones, but don’t let it stay a museum. We answered all the historic woodwork with saturated, joyful color — This is preservation with a point of view. Explore Braeface where dark woodwork meets fearless color, 175 years later.
